How this works
What we are, what we aren't, and how we get paid
E. coli Lawsuit is a free service that connects people to independent attorneys. We are not a law firm, we do not give legal advice, and no one here is your lawyer.
That distinction matters enough that we put it on its own page instead of burying it in the footer.
What we are
E. coli Lawsuit is an advertising and referral service. We publish information about E. coli infections and outbreaks and connect people who were harmed with independent attorneys who handle these cases.
We are not a law firm and we are not medical professionals. We do not practise law, we cannot give legal or medical advice, and submitting the form does not create an attorney–client relationship. Any attorney you're matched with is independent of this site.
How we get paid
Law firms pay us a flat fee for advertising and qualified referrals. It's fixed — it doesn't change with your case value, whether you win, or how much you recover, and it's never deducted from a settlement.
Fee arrangements that scale with case value are prohibited between lawyers and non-lawyers under professional conduct rules in every state. Ours doesn't.
What happens to your submission
A person reads it. The first things we look for are whether the organism was confirmed, whether HUS developed, and whether there's an outbreak or recall link — because together those largely determine whether a claim is viable.
If it fits, we route it to a firm licensed in your state that handles foodborne illness work. They contact you directly.
If it doesn't, we email you and say so, with the reason.
Your information and your consent
We collect what you enter in the form plus the record documenting your consent — timestamp, IP address, and the exact language you agreed to. Medical information you provide is shared only with the law firm we refer you to and the providers who transmit and store it.
You can revoke consent at any time through any channel: reply STOP to a text, tell a caller to stop, or email the address on our privacy page. We apply it across every channel.
What we won't do
We won't give medical advice or tell you to change a medication. We won't quote settlement figures from a form. We won't promise an outcome. We won't imply we're a law firm. And we won't keep contacting you after you've asked us to stop.
Ready when you are
Two minutes, no cost, and you're free to walk away at any point — including after you've spoken to the attorney.
